Chiefs 33, Broncos 19

Who would have thought that the Chiefs would beat the Broncos today? Being that the Griefs, OOPS! Chiefs were 0-3 and the Donkeys were 3-0 we were not looking forward to an exciting game. Ohh... but the boys in red came ready to play! What a great game and we had a great time tailgating and cheering the Chiefs to victory! Jim, JP, Kate and I hit the stadium early for some tailgate action and then stayed until the 2 minute warning... gotta beat the traffic!

Here are a few pics:

So Kat brought Kate up on Saturday and Judy came up as well since she is watching JP this week while I am gone. That meant we had 3 extra people and only 2 extra beds (1 full and 1 twin) so JP and Jim thought it would be fun to camp in the camper since it was still in the driveway. This way Judy could have the guest room (HER room), Kat could sleep on the twin in JP's playroom and Kate could sleep in JP's bedroom.

Jim and JP went on out and the "girls" all watched Sex and the City, The Movie. At about 9:30 pm we heard a THUD THUD on the back door. Guess who was standing there with Frog in hand? Yep... JP! Jim was sound asleep... snoring... and JP woke up(or he never fell asleep) and decided to come inside the house. Yikes! He wasn't scared and I could tell he thought it was pretty funny but we wondered how long he was wandering around outside in the driveway. Jim thought the passenger door on his truck was slightly open this morning so he may have been in there too. Of course Jim felt terrible that he didn't wake up when JP climbed over him but JP was happy that he got to sleep in my bed with me. He said he just wanted a drink and to sleep with Mommy.

Where on earth???

I took JP to school this morning and we were waiting in line for curbside drop-off so we say our goodbyes ahead of time so we don't hold up the line when it's time for JP to hop out. Our converstaion went something like this:

Me: OK, JP! I hope you have fun today! Give me a kiss!
JP: OK! *smack* Now I want to kiss your nose.
Me: Awww! Ok!
JP: *smack*

Then he sticks his tongue out and says:
JP: Let's lick tongues!
Me: *gasp!* No, JP. You don't lick tongues with people. You just kiss with your lips.
JP: OK. I just lick suckers, right?
Me: RIGHT!

Where did that come from????????

Benjy

It was JP's turn to bring home the bookbag from school today. Inside it is the book, "The Puppy Who Wanted a Boy", a stuffed dog named Benjy and a Benjy Notebook. The "homework" is to take care of Benjy, do anything with him, play with him, take him anywhere except the shower or bath and then have Mom or Dad write down in the book what Benjy did with you. JP also gets to draw a picture of Benjy or something that he did with Benjy. Let me tell you... JP loves Benjy. He knows that he just gets him until Tuesday but he is already having so much fun with him. Of course we've read the book 4 times already. It's a very sweet book. Here are some picture of JP with Benjy:

Loving Benjy:

"Reading" to Benjy:
Taking Benjy for a bike ride:
JP's drawing of Benjy. It's hard to see because he used crayons but he also wrote his name on the bottom. You can see my writing from the back documenting their activities... per JP.

This is a fun project and it was fun to go through the book and see what the other kids drew and what they did with Benjy. Tomorrow is a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese but I think Benjy will either stay home or in the car. I don't want to be the one who loses Benjy.

Boys will be Boys

Judy got to take care of JP for 2 days while I played in my golf tournament. She told me about a little "funny" that JP did:

He was out playing on his playground in our backyard and climbed up the ladder that goes to the monkey bars. He was on the top rung and I guess he decided that he had to pee... right away... so she saw him pull down his shorts and pee right off the top rung! Then he couldn't pull his shorts back up that easily since he had to hold on to the ladder so he climbed back down to the ground with his shorts around his ankles so he could pull them back up.

I'm sure that was quite a sight to see!!!!

Guess What?

Guess who's getting a new bike?

ME! So I can keep up with JP when he's on his bike and we can go for rides together. It'll also be nice to have when we go camping so we can ride together throughout the campground. Jim even says he'll go for rides with him so he's going to get one tomorrow... a nice off-road type that we can share. YAY!

Bummer.

JP was outside riding his bike (inbetween rain storms) last night right before bed and it was finally time to call it a day. I told him to park his bike in the garage and it was time for a shower. His response?

"Awwwww! Bummer."

OH... and Jim thinks it's time to try without training wheels. I beg to differ.

Learning Time

JP had school today and of course had a great time. When I picked him up I actually got to talk to the teacher for a minute since there weren't any other mothers there at that time and I asked how he was doing so far this year. She told me he was doing really well and they are all learning about their boundaries with each other. JP likes to go right up to the other kids and sort of get right in their face when he talks to them. I'm sure this can be intimidating, especially since he's so much bigger than his classmates. I've seen him do this and we try to tell him to back off and talk to them and his teachers are working with all of them about boundaries and learning to read each others facial expressions/body language. Of course it's a learning process and it's all typical for this age. I'm just glad he's being so social!

Then they had some lessons today using some graph charts and they were learning about More/Less, etc with reading the graphs. JP went first and told the teachers the answers (he's good at this sort of thing) and when it was the other students' turns he kept answering FOR them. She had to correct him on this and tell him that it was THEIR turn and she knows that he knows the answers but he needed to let them have their turn. Again, a learning process but I'm happy to hear that he's doing well!

I guess they painted today in the "art area" but JP said he didn't paint. That's ok! I had him using the glue stick the other day and he did great so he's more interested than he used to be!

Here, Mom...This is for you.

We were driving home from the grocery store and JP said,"It's a little ball! Here, Mom... this is for you." I reach back and what does he hand me?

Any guesses?

A booger.

Haunted House

One of the benefits about receiving boxes and boxes of merchandise is the oversized boxes that make great "houses" for JP to play in. Today he got creative and decided to make a "Haunted House" with some of his halloween stickers from last year. Check him out.... *gasp* He was being crafty! :-)

Glueing on some eyeballs:

Making some happy pumpkin faces... Remember, this is NOT a scary haunted house.
Posing with the finished product:
Up close so you can see some of those happy pumpkins. And his name... see the dots? LOL
Just being cute:
He enjoyed his little project... He probably worked on it for at least 30 minutes! We were going through some of my halloween merchandise and he picked out this cute ghost garland to hang over the door to his room. After I hung it up we were walking down the stairs and he said, "Mommy, you are my BEST! buddy." Awwwww.....

Snippets from Roaring River

Just a few funnies that were said/done while at Roaring River this weekend....

JP ate 3 1/2 trout in one sitting on Sunday. Yep... we made crispy fish and he ate 7 whole filets which equals 3 1/2 trout! He ate more than we did!

We would drive over to the hatchery at night to feed the trout and I drove with JP, Jim and Jake in the bed of the pickup and the whole time driving over there JP would yell, " MOM! Where's the fire? MOMMMMM!!!!" NO, I wasn't speeding. I'm sure Daddy put him up to it.

While driving home Jim and I like to tease and poke/pinch, etc. All in good fun, I promise. Jim playfully hit my shoulder and JP was in the back and reaches up and pats me on the shoulder and says, "It's OK, Mom. It'll be OK. Daddy! Stop hitting Mom!" LOL!!!!!!!!

We camped in spot #8 and we would send JP on pedaling excursions on his bigwheel. We'd tell him to pedal to #10 and come back and he would. By the end of the weekend he was racing to #15 and back.... all by himself! He used to always want one of us to walk with him but he's branching out. These slots are really spread out, too. It's not like he was 100 yards away. We'd keep our eyes on him though and he's really good about getting into the grass if/when he'd see any vehicles coming and going. I think he got about 3 miles clocked on the bigwheel this weekend.

Sorry... I didn't get many pics... just a couple of JP in the camper.

Inside Scoop

One of my friends was a sub in JP's preschool class today so I got to ask her about his day while we were at a birthday party for one of his classmates. She got a kick out of how excited JP was about this project he was working on. I guess he kept saying, "I can't wait to give this to my Mom. She is going to love this. I can't wait to give her her present." Awwwww!!!! So she told me I better be extra excited when I get it! DUH!

Big Fun at Lilley's Landing!

We had a great time this weekend at Lilley's Landing with Steve, Kat and Kate. I wonder if they are as tired as we are?? We caught some fish, did some swimming, swapped kids one morning.... It was quite the weekend. In fact, we had so much fun we re-booked for next year so we can make this our yearly "thing". Can't wait till next year! :)

Aunt Kat with her big catch... a bass!

Kate's first trout! She even took them off the hook all by herself. GO KATE! JP's friend, "Morning" the caterpillar. But... she got squished on the way to the hatchery.
Look out below!
Bounce... SPLASH! He'd come up saying, "I missed!" LOL
